«Law: History and Modernity» is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal devoted to research on legal regulation, lawmaking, law-enforcement practice, doctrinal studies, and other issues in the development of law. The journal has been published since 2017.
The scholarly concept of the publication involves publishing articles aimed at theoretical and practical study of law in its spatiotemporal and cultural continuum.

Aims and Objectives
The journal’s aim is to exchange relevant scholarly information in the fields of legal regulation, lawmaking, law-enforcement practice, doctrinal studies, and other issues in the development of law.
The journal « Law: History and Modernity » defines its objectives as follows:
- promoting the development, consolidation, and integration of scholarly knowledge;
- exchanging relevant scholarly information;
- creating a unified scholarly and discussion platform to integrate the knowledge and experience of leading international scholars and practitioners, as well as early-career specialists;
- bringing together the efforts of different categories of researchers in the comprehensive study of law.
To achieve these aims and objectives, the journal has adopted a broad thematic scope that makes it possible to reflect all aspects of the issues under consideration, including the theory and history of state and law, civil, family, and criminal law, civil and arbitration procedure, and other branches of law in accordance with the journal’s headings.

The titles of the thematic sections are formulated as broadly as possible, allowing the publication of articles and reviews that bring together knowledge and cover all aspects of research in law-enforcement practice, doctrinal studies, lawmaking, legal regulation, and other issues in the development of law. These sections are not fixed. To allow flexible structuring of the thematic content of each issue, the set of sections comprising it may vary.
The journal «Law: History and Modernity» publishes research that contributes to the development of contemporary legal scholarship, prepared by both established scholars and early-career specialists. What matters most is the contribution each scholar makes to the development of legal knowledge and to the study of law’s meaning and essence, its value and significance in the lives and destinies of individuals and society, peoples and states, and humanity.
The journal’s target audience includes scholars and researchers, higher-education teachers, specialists at research institutes, members of the legal profession, and undergraduate and postgraduate students at higher-education institutions.

The journal «Law: History and Modernity» is an open-access journal, meaning that it provides permanent full-text access to the authors’ materials published in it. The journal’s editorial board supports the Joint Declaration of Data Citation Principles, thereby emphasizing both the importance of maximum data accessibility and openness for the advancement of general scholarly knowledge and respect for the rights of individual authors in recognition of their contributions.
The journal’s open-access policy is based on the principles set out in the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) , namely the possibility of the broadest possible use of publications: to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the relevant articles; use them for indexing; enter them as data into software; or use them for any other lawful purpose without financial, legal, or technical barriers. At the same time, according to BOAI, the only restriction on the reproduction and distribution of publications, and the only copyright condition in this area, should be the author’s right to control the integrity of their work and to receive proper attribution when the work is used and cited.
